FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I use end caps if the profile isn't visible?
End caps are not just about aesthetics. Their main task is to seal the profile so that dust, insects, or moisture cannot get inside, which could damage the LED strip. Additionally, they securely fix the diffuser (cover) in place so it doesn't slide out, and they cover sharp aluminum edges that could damage the power cable.
Are connectors (snap-on connectors) as reliable as soldering?
Connectors are brilliant for quick installation without the need to drag a soldering iron up a ladder. For standard home installations, they are completely sufficient. However, if you are planning an installation in areas with heavy vibrations or in extremely demanding outdoor spaces, traditional hard soldering is still a slightly surer path to a permanent connection.
How do I know which end cap fits my profile?
Each series of aluminum profiles has its specific end caps. They are usually divided into solid ones (to cap off one end) and those with a hole (for routing out the cable). When choosing, always look at the name or code of the profile – an end cap for a corner profile will not fit a recessed one. If you are not sure, end caps in our e-shop are often directly linked as recommended accessories for the given profile.
What should I do if I need to connect the LED strip at a right angle (into a corner)?
You have two options. Either you use an angle connector ("L-connector"), which joins the strip without the need to bend it, or you can carefully connect the strip with a short piece of flexible wire. The second option is better where the corner is not exactly 90 degrees or where you need to leave a small gap between two sections.
