Installation and connection of LED modules
The LED modules can either be glued to the substrate using 3M self-adhesive strips or silicone fitting or bolted with screws. The LED modules are connected by means of a linear link to the "chain".
The self-adhesive strip in the modules does not serve as an anchoring element, but only for fixing before the final mechanical securing.

Important technical conditions
Never more than 30 LED modules (depending on the type) can be connected in series!
Protect the LED modules against rainwater intrusion.
Put the inside of the letters with a white lacquer. This reduces light loss and increases luminosity and light scattering.
The minimum distance for negative letter backlight (from the wall) is 30 mm measured from the surface of the LED modules.
Use fusible fuses on the secondary side of sources!
Always connect as the first secondary circuits and then connect to the network. Particularly with electronic power supplies, there may be an increase in secondary voltage without load, which can result in module damage!

Safety and technical conditions for LED strips
Soldering should only be done at designated locations (labeled "+ -"). The brazing time should not exceed 10 s and the temperature is 260 ° C. Never extend the LED strip over a 5m length, overloading and destroying it!
The strip can be divided by 3 LED scissors at marked locations. The strip is attached using 3M strip. The surface area where the strip is glued must be thoroughly cleaned.
The minimum bend radius is 2 cm. The band can be bent with a smaller radius in places where there are no electrical components, and should then be attached to the bending to prevent repeated bending.

The LED strip or the components it contains may not be mechanically stressed otherwise than in the application notes.
Installation must not interfere with the conductive paths on the printed circuit.
Electrical polarity must be observed. Poor polarity connection may damage the LED strip.
If the strip is attached to a metal substrate, insulating material must be used between the substrate and the strip.
When mounting, the ESD protection principles must be observed.
Install the strip on non-conducting and non-flammable substrates. For safe operation, use the fuse on the secondary side of the power supply. The strip must be secured against water. It is necessary to secure the LED ends of the moisture bar using a shrink sleeve and silicone.
The source used must be dimensioned to the total load.

Drivers for RGB strips
Fixed program effect modules are usually capable of selecting a presentation of several static colors with the possibility of step transition or continuous blending. Speed and intensity can be controlled.
Programmable units handle almost any lighting animation.
The maximum load per channel (R, G or B) is given for each type.

Safety and technical conditions for DC electronic sources
Working conditions:

  • It is not recommended to exert extreme effects that can adversely affect the correct functioning of the device - permanent exposure to temperatures above 55 ° C, aggressive vapors, chemicals, high relative humidity above 95%, strong electromagnetic field Or microwave radiation
  • For error-free operation, it is necessary to avoid placing devices in close proximity to sources of electromagnetic interference
  • It is necessary to observe the allowed tolerance of the supply voltage, given the technical parameters of the individual devices

Voltage pulse sources are designed to power all LED modules in voltage mode, including LED strips and similar components. They are supplied in the IP68 version in AL or plastic case, as well as in the "plug-in" design reminiscent of the mobile phone charger, etc. These sources are supplied to the el. Circuit constant voltage. When the source is overloaded, the secondary circuit turns off their electronic protection.

Dear Customers, HERE we are publishing a MEAN WELL Installation Instruction Manual, including the basic installation points, the maximum number of LEDs connected to the circuit breakers and other warnings.

We also include MEAN WELL's basic recommendations and questions and answers e.g.

Point 9. LED sources must not be connected in parallel.
Point 10. LED sources must comply with EN61000-3-2. If power is greater than 25W, PFC-free sources for light advertising and lighting can not be used.
Point 20. IP67 sources can be used in outdoor environments, however, they must be installed in such a way as to prevent permanent exposure to water or snow and the impact of direct sunlight. The sources must also be provided with perfect ventilation! etc.

We also include a Complaint Report issued by MEAN WELL as, in the event of a complaint without completion, MEAN WELL does not initiate a complaint and the claim is considered to be irrelevant. In addition to a completed protocol that is a must for MEAN WELL to initiate a claim, we also recommend that you make a photographic documentation of the installation and location of the source as well as the wiring diagram.

In the event that Dencop's customer is a Distributor and not an End-User, Customer must transfer this obligation to Customer.
The MEAN WELL product complaint handling system is a completed RMA ... .1 form for 1 source and sending the source.
Please read carefully the MEAN WELL Q & A installation manuals, as well as sharing and recommending MEAN WELL resources
This article builds on Dencop's valid claim form and does not replace any of its parts.

WARNING:
When connecting the Power LED Chains to the Power Supply, ensure the correct polarity of the connection, reversed polarity can cause the LEDs to be destroyed. Always first connect the entire LED circuit to the power supply first
Then connect this power supply to the 230V mains. Otherwise, all LEDs in the chain may be destroyed! Any switching on and closing of the LEDs must also be carried out in front of the power supply - 230V supply side.

Never look at your POWER LED without a protective eyewear (dark glasses etc.) from small distances, especially if they are equipped with an optical element - it can cause irreversible damage to the retina!
