FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
What are silicone end caps used for and why shouldn't they be underestimated?
Silicone end caps are absolutely crucial for properly finishing a Flex Neon installation. After cutting the neon to the desired length, the end cap is attached and sealed with adhesive, preventing moisture, dust, and water from entering the tube. Without proper sealing, short circuits or damage to the LED chips could occur, especially during outdoor use.
What is the difference between aluminum tracks and mounting clips?
Aluminum tracks (profiles) are ideal for creating perfectly straight and rigid lines—you simply snap the neon into them, and the profile also helps dissipate heat. Conversely, small mounting clips are great for complex shapes, waves, and curved signs where you need to fix the neon at precisely chosen points without using long rails.
How are power cables connected to Flex Neon?
Special connection pins or soldering are used for reliable cable attachment. The pin is inserted directly into the interior of the neon toward the conductors and then insulated with heat-shrink tubing and waterproof sealant. For less demanding indoor installations, quick connectors can also be used, but for the outdoors, we always recommend a solid connection with thorough insulation.
Can I use standard connectors to shape neon into sharp corners?
Sharp 90° corners usually cannot be made by simply bending the neon without damaging the internal LED strip. For right angles, the Flex Neon must be cut and both sections connected using special corner jumper cables (via soldering or snap-on connectors), allowing you to create a clean and professional corner without breaking the light flow.
