Extruded Plexiglass Polycasa, Crystal - Polycasa and Crystal are extruded polymethyl methacrylate sheets. They exhibit excellent optical properties and, like PERSPEX, are characterized by high light transmission, resistance to environmental influences, high temperature resistance with a range of -40 °C to +80 °C. Processing is characterised by easy formability, mouldability, cutting and drilling.
Cast Perspex and Spectrum LED - PERSPEX clear Plexiglas is characterised by excellent light transmission (92%) comparable to glass, impact resistance (5x more resistant than glass of the same thickness) and low weight (1.19 g/cm3).
It is characterized by resistance to various weather conditions, has very good insulating properties, prevents heat loss from inside the building and the penetration of heat or cold into the building, leading to energy savings in winter and also as air conditioning in summer. At room temperature, the boards show resistance to a wide range of chemicals including diesel fuel, turpentine and dilute acid and salt solutions. Surface hardness is the highest of any conventional plastic.
PERSPEX cast Plexiglass has low surface tension and is UV resistant. The sheets are coated on both sides with a protective film. PERSPEX moulded Plexiglas is suitable for more complex mechanical or heat treatment. The material can be very well drilled, laser cut, glued, polished, hot bent or vacuum formed. Spectrum LED is a special cast Plexiglas based on the Perspex range suitable for LED applications.
